Hello

Hi, My name is Lisa Burns,

Did you know that in India, in 2010, a law was passed that any prisoners who completed 15 consecutive days or more of yoga practice would then receive a reduced prison sentence? This is because it is known that those who immerse themselves in daily yoga practice cannot remain the same and so, even a criminal can be trusted to leave their criminal ways behind when yoga becomes their day to day experience. This is still Indian law and that is how powerful yoga is known to be.

It is because of this same knowing that I teach yoga. I love to watch people transform. Yoga is not only the physical "on the mat" practice, it has 8 different parts, all of which you'll learn at our retreat, that if followed makes us our very best selves in mind, body and spirit and helps us to make life fun and easy.

This has been my yoga journey. Like most people I had beliefs and habits that kept me from being my best self and yoga continually washes those away.

My Story

  • Facebook

My first yoga class was in 1994 in  scotland when I was 16.

Then in  2008  in Thailand in  I completed   Chakra yoga , my first teacher training of  375  hours and it took me even deeper into my love of yoga and while I was there I had "this experience or knowing or results yoga had on my body and mind and found my love of sharing yoga.

I also completed 300 hours Of family and community yoga in Italy in and  80 hours of therapeutic yoga in North Carolina. And many cpd workshops.

Now yoga is my first choice, it is my superpower, it makes everything work so well for me and because I know this I have often been known to do 90 minutes in the morning and 90 minutes in the evening just because of the effect it has on everything that I live. I have a simple belief that the more busy my day is, then the more yoga I need to make that day flow and it always works.

I have a cute little doggie called Sammy who joins me in my yoga and I swear that it transforms him as well.

At my home space  in Scotland I have the honour of teaching yoga to some very, powerful groups of women and I love to watch as yoga transforms their every ill, want and need as well as their physical bodies and it is a joyful practice and we all thrive with choosing us and saying yes to more joy in our lives.

As well as yoga I am a multi passionate Goddess who is deeply in love with the wellness industry. I am a Reiki master and studied 2 years with the school of energy healing biased in the work of Barbara ann Brennan.

I also train others in Reiki, Kinetic chain release , ceremonial yoga , ceremonial cacao, , massage, beauty and many other modalities a lot of which I add to my yoga classes.

I teach Ceremonial yoga, another  word for ceremony is ritual. Ritually moving our bodies, in breath and presence awakens the magic in us and yoga is one of the easiest ways that I have found to give ourselves the gift of magic in our hearts, minds and bodies every day. Ceremonial Yoga classes are a blend of Hatha Yoga & somatic Yoga with meditation, pranayam, chanting & deep relaxation.

This is has been my yoga journey and it is ongoing. I am always learning and it is my choice that I will learn more about this beautiful practice all the days of my life.

If you are interested in learning more about the practices of yoga and the art of sharing yoga with others then please join us  at one of our Sacred Heart yoga retreats.

I look forward to meeting you all,
Love
Lisa
